Who we are

Bosque Satori is a meditation center founded and led by clinical psychologists who integrate their expertise in group psychotherapy with the ancestral practice of meditation, emphasizing the importance of human connection.

For the past three years, Bosque Satori has been a healing space for individuals engaged in therapy and meditation. It provides a supportive environment where people rediscover themselves, heal through compassion, and connect with others on similar journeys, all while the center continues its development.

Located in southern Chile, Bosque Satori is surrounded by landscapes that hold deep cultural significance, shaped by the presence of indigenous traditions and ancestral wisdom.

Enriched by multicultural perspectives and spiritual orientations, Bosque Satori embraces diversity, welcoming individuals from all cultures, religions, genders, and orientations. The center aims to develop accessible programs for individuals from low-income backgrounds, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity.

Beyond its role as a space for healing, Bosque Satori envisions becoming a hub for education, fostering awareness about mental health, sustainability, and community resilience.

By contributing to Bosque Satori, donors support holistic, science-backed solutions for addressing stress and trauma, with a focus on long-term healing and well-being. This approach is central to the center's mission, providing sustainable therapeutic solutions for mental and emotional health.

The Challenge

Currently, we are in the midst of the physical construction of the center, bringing our vision to life. Rising material and labor costs since the pandemic have slowed construction, requiring alternative fundraising efforts.

So far, events held at the space have been the main source of funding, but they are insufficient. Since the construction is incomplete, the space can only be used in summer, when weather permits. This severely limits its use in a region that experiences low temperatures and rain for most of the year.

The next phases of construction are critical. To complete the main hall, we must build perimeter walls, install windows, finish the ceiling with lighting, and complete the floor—the foundation for our community’s profound work. Additionally, a heating system is essential for year-round comfort, and a sewage system must be installed to ensure proper sanitation and functionality.

What do we need?

We need a total of $70,000. With your help, we can overcome these challenges and continue to provide a space for growth and healing for more people.

Arquitecture

The architecture of Bosque Satori is designed to inspire inner transformation, serving as a central space where individuals can find balance, peace, and a deeper sense of connection. It seamlessly integrates functionality with the fulfillment of profound spiritual and emotional needs.

Inspiration

Echoing Navajo Hogan Homes and Ceremonial Spaces:

These structures reflect a cosmology deeply attuned to the earth and its natural rhythms. Using natural materials such as logs, wood, native timber, and earth, the reciprocal roof design, free of interior columns, creates an open, stable space that fosters freedom of movement and a sense of nurturing enclosure. A central roof window, an opening at the heart of the structure, establishes a direct connection to the sky. Much like traditional dwellings, the interior serves as a sacred space for both daily life and ceremonial activities.

Zen tradition:

Wide, open spaces combined with simplicity embrace the concept of emptiness, allowing energy to flow freely and fostering clarity and tranquility. The windows surrounding the octagonal design frame the landscape, creating an immersive connection with nature. This seamless blend of interior and exterior reflects calm and balance.

Innovative Stability: The Power of Reciprocal Beam Architecture

The reciprocal beam structure provides exceptional stability, supporting heavy loads and distributing weight evenly. This construction method enables expansive open spaces without interior columns, preserving the natural flow of the space.

Welcoming Sacred Geometry

The Hogan-inspired roof structure consists of superimposed squares rotating in a spiral, following the auric proportion—a ratio found in nature. This design reflects the dynamic yet stable patterns of natural geometry, facilitating the free flow of both physical and spiritual energy.

Thoughtfully designed spaces like this enhance meditation practices, helping practitioners achieve deeper states of consciousness and fostering a stronger connection to their surroundings.

Sustainability and Green Roof

Sustainability is at the heart of this project. The use of natural materials and sacred geometry creates a harmonious balance between form and function, preserving the surrounding ecosystem and minimizing the carbon footprint. This approach reflects a reciprocal relationship with nature, where we benefit from its gifts while safeguarding its well-being and contributing to the preservation of the planet. The green roof improves insulation, reduces energy consumption, and lasts up to three times longer than traditional roofs due to its protective and regenerative properties. It provides a habitat for biodiversity and integrates seamlessly into the woodland environment. Skylights flood the interior with natural light, significantly reducing reliance on artificial lighting.

Looking ahead, additional sustainable solutions like solar energy will further align the project with our vision of cultivating harmony between human habitation and the natural ecosystem. This commitment remains a guiding principle that we aim to promote and share with the community.
